RSC Live Broadcast
Years 7 and 8 joined thousands of pupils nationwide in watching the Royal Shakespeare Company's live-streamed performance of Julius Caesar
The RSC’s live-streamed production of Julius Caesar was a modern and very interesting approach to creating nationwide access to theatre. Directed by Angus Jackson, it was an exciting performance with twists and turns all the way. A true political thriller. Shakespeare’s gripping words haven’t been lost to time, as proven by this extraordinary production that greatly deserved its live broadcast. Even though it was set in the Roman era, its modern relevance was acute. The actors brought the characters to life; Mark Antony’s famous ‘Friends, Romans, countrymen’ speech was particularly brilliant, combining political cunning with real integrity. TS
