Academic excellence is one of the highest priorities at New College School. Of course, it is important that we continue to place our boys in their preferred senior schools, but our academic motivation extends further. If we can open our boys’ eyes to the power of great literature, the genius of the enlightenment, and the beauty of the scientific method, then they will be better able to understand the world, and to find a place in it where they can be happy.

New College School has a dedicated and first-class staff who share the same academic aspirations. Our boys are taught in small classes, and they follow a wide curriculum through to the Pre-Senior Baccalaureate and Scholarship examinations at thirteen. All are very well-prepared for life at their chosen senior school.
