Christopher William Hill Visit
Boys from Years 4, 5 and 6 were lucky enough to spend an hour with the author and playwright Christopher William Hill, and what an exciting hour it was.
They witnessed first-hand how he draws on ideas from all areas of his life, to create vivid characters and compelling narratives. It was rewarding to see how confidently and enthusiastically every boy contributed their thoughts; a testament to the relaxed and open atmosphere Christopher created. Nothing was out of bounds and topics ranged from cemeteries to cup-cakes. Christopher is very keen to explore these types of combinations in his writing and encouraged the boys not be boxed in, to great effect. As one boy in Year 4 said ‘I didn’t realise every idea can be turned into story.’ LBr
