Year 6 ventured to Wendover Woods to practise their orienteering and map reading skills. In the mist of the woodland morning, the boys played games to get warmed up and learn how to ‘set’ themselves on a route. The boys spent the rest of the day practising their map skills using an OS map, then moving on to an orienteering course and hunting out markers hidden away in hard-to-find spots. We also celebrated a class birthday and the birthday boy very kindly bought along an enormous chocolate cake which kept everyone going. It was a fun day and certainly tired the boys out!
