Primary Maths Challenge
Forty brave young mathematicians from Years 3-6 volunteered to tackle the Primary Mathematics Challenge. This is a national competition, with international competitors welcome, which is run annually by the Mathematics Association. This fun competition is the perfect springboard used to help prepare the younger years for the Junior Mathematics Competition that will become available to them as they enter the more senior year groups at NCS. The questions involve critical and logical reasoning. The boys handled this challenge incredibly well and I was very happy with the number of mathematicians who were confident enough to give this challenge a go. Six NCS boys progressed into the Bonus Round. They were Tassilo, Misha, Samuel, Henry C, Freddie and Jack. Well done to all the boys who took part in the first round and bonus round, especially Samuel who received a Silver Award in the bonus round.
