Year 3 Activities Week
Year 3 had a great activities week, based around the theme of Pirates.
We had a great day out at Hill End Outdoor Education Centre, where we were given treasure maps and had to follow trails with a few exciting pirate obstacles on the way. With Miss Krebs, we learnt how to survive on a desert island by making drinking water out of sea water as well as building a life raft that would float. We also created some pirate art with Mrs Ryder. Never to forget our fabulous city location, courtesy of The Story Museum we toured the literary sites of Oxford which provided inspiration for authors such as CS Lewis, Philip Pullman and Tolkien. We even saw the actual Narnia lamppost and Alice’s gate! However, the standout highlight of the week was when we welcomed our celebrity guest, Brenton West from BBC’s The Repair Shop. He taught the boys metal cutting skills to create a pirate mobile from copper. The boys thoroughly enjoyed their week!
