Firstly, Hugh Cutting was awarded the 2021 Kathleen Ferrier Award, before being named a Radio 3 New Generation Artist. Orlando Higginbottom, aka Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, was nominated for a Grammy Award. At the same awards ceremony in Los Angeles was former NCS pupil Ed Irwin-Singer whose band, Glass Animals, was also nominated for a Grammy, after their song Heat Waves made it to number 1 in the US charts.
