World Book Day
NCS was not content with celebrating World Book Day this year, but went for a kind of World Book Week instead.
Of course, at the centre of events we had our annual dressing up as a literary character with a costume parade assembly, followed by a series of quizzes masterminded by EH in the library. In addition this year we had a literature quiz - pupils versus teachers - in assembly, with the teachers dressed up a their literary counterparts. It took the boys a while to work out who was underneath the Dumbledore wig and beard! Then the whole school enjoyed a visit from the author Matt Oldfield, who shared his passion for football and gave the boys valuable insights into how to write about it. A bookswap rounded events off very nicely and once again underlined the importance of reading in all walks of school life.
