Year 6 Ballet Trip
As part of the music curriculum, Year 6 studies a ballet. They learn about the history of the art form and study some of the most famous ballets. Each year, the class goes to see a live performance of the ballet they have studied. This year, it was the turn of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Having learned a little about Tchaikovsky’s ballets, and studied the plot and score of Swan Lake in some detail, Year 6 attended a performance at the New Theatre, George Street, given by the Varna International Ballet. Fortified by pizza and ice cream, the whole class enjoyed the full- length performance, danced by the famous Bulgarian dancers and accompanied by a live symphony orchestra.
